Someone asks how you’re doing, and for once you start to answer honestly. You get as far as “I’m not sure my work fits anymore” before they lean in with a suggestion: someone you should call, or a course that helped a friend. They mean well, and you thank them. Then you change the subject, and the true answer goes back where you’ve been keeping it.
If you’ve always been the one who figures things out, you probably know the other side of that moment too. You’re usually the one with the suggestion. Most capable people are, which is part of why a room where nobody hurries to fix you is so hard to find.
On Thursday, I’ll write about why we reach to fix, and what the research shows happens when someone listens instead. Today, I’d like to invite you into a room built for listening.
Between Currents
Between Currents™ is a free, live, 90-minute Zoom workshop on Wednesday, November 18th, from 9:00 to 10:30 AM Pacific. It’s the last session of 2026, and seating is limited.
It’s for anyone who feels something shifting, whether a chapter has closed or the one you’re in has stopped fitting. Come as you are, with whatever you haven’t said out loud yet.
The session follows The Ripple Journey™, the framework behind much of what we write here at Betweenward™. Its five stages trace how a transition tends to unfold, from the first disturbance to steadier ground. For ninety minutes, you’ll move through them alongside others who are standing in the in-between too.
In their own words
At the close of October’s session, I asked people what they were walking out with that they hadn’t walked in with. A few of their answers:
“More patience; at least a reminder that I need to work on that.”
“Comfort that I’m in a better place than I was in my recent past.”
“An understanding that I’m already doing some things.”
What you’ll leave with
A private, written record of the value you carry: the experience and strengths you bring into whatever comes next
The people already in your corner, named so that you can reach for them this week
One honest next step, small enough to do and sturdy enough to matter
Your Ripple Snapshot, a short before-and-after report emailed a few days later
Before we meet, you’ll take a short assessment of where you stand, and you’ll take it again as we close. The Snapshot shows what shifted during those ninety minutes, in your own numbers. The first assessment link comes with your registration confirmation, so registering early gives you time to complete it.
